The new Genesis Bravo system for tracking poker players rewards points will be installed at the Seminole Paradise Poker Room at Hard Rock Hollywood by mid-June.

The new tracking machines should serve as a way for the Seminoles to take advantage of the influx of new players to be arriving in Florida poker rooms once the new no-limit laws go into effect on July 1st. New players will be testing the different poker rooms and the Seminoles want to have the best amenities from the start.

The Genesis Bravo system utilizes a convenient tableside swipe unit to accurately track all players seated at the table, and notify the host of any open seats. Also, the system tracks hourly comps to the minute, so all players will know that the time they put in is adding up accurately. Comp reward points will be accrued electronically on players’ Seminole Player’s Club Wild Card which can then be redeemed at a variety of Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s restaurants, retail outlets and more.

Other in-house benefits of the high-tech Genesis Bravo system include the registering and management of tournament play (including buy-in, re-buy and add-on tracking), dealer auditing, food and beverage selection and leader board tracking and display, remote monitoring and more.

Players will benefit from the system by being able to electronically place themselves on a popular game wait list and then be notified by text or email when their favorite game and limit has opened.

The Genesis Bravo System now allows us to streamline the playing process with dealer-controlled decisions, instantly reward our customers and keep them electronically up-to-date on their ratings, status and preferred games,” said Director of Poker Operations, Peter Arsenis.

Currently, Poker Players receive vouchers where they can redeem their points for rated play at various outlets at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. In the near future, poker players will be able to use their Seminole Player’s Club Wild Card to redeem their rewards as Genesis Bravo will synchronize with the same rewards program slot players enjoy at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino – Hollywood.

Mardi Gras will be giving away a red, a white, and a blue Ford Mustang as a Memorial Day promotion.

Red, White and Blue will be the theme as Mardi Gras prepares to give away three 2010 Mustangs on Memorial Day weekend. Entries for this extravagant giveaway can be earned starting today through the end of the month. On Saturday, May 29th, a red Mustang will be given away. That will be followed on Sunday by a white Mustang winner, and a blue Mustang will be awarded on Monday.

With summer in the air, Mardi Gras is also offering up an All-American feast on Sunday and Monday from 1PM to 9PM on the second floor of the casino. The menu will have such favorites as BBQ beef and pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, cheese burgers. In addition, tasty sides such as corn on the cob, baked beans, and coleslaw will be available. For those interested in celebrating, drink specials will be available throughout the weekend.

Topping off the weekend on Sunday will be the 1st Annual Watermelon Eating Contest, with a first place prize of $2,500. The first sixty people to register will be in the competition, with an additional twenty-four people being drawn into the contest on Sunday.

The Crappiest Promotion at Mardi Gras Casino will give players a chance to win $15,000 every hour, every Friday in April.

“The Crappiest Promotion” plays off of an old casino favorite, craps. While South Florida casinos can not legally offer craps to their customers, this well-developed promotion brings players close to craps action, without the risk of losing any of their hard-earned cash.

In order to participate players must be a Mardi Gras Casino Player’s Club member. Signing up for a Player’s Club membership is as easy as showing identification at the guest relations desk inside Mardi Gras Casino.

“The Crappiest Promotion” begins this Friday and continues each subsequent Friday in April. There will be six hourly drawings starting at 4:45PM. In each drawing, five Player’s Club members who are present, and who have used their Player’s Club card that day, will be chosen to compete in that hour’s game.

At the top of the hour, the five chosen players will head over to a large sixteen foot table with “The Crappiest Promotion” logo in the middle. The first player is given two over-sized purple dice. The player rolls the dice, and based on the outcome, either wins bonus money or loses bonus money for the entire team of five players.

If the first outcome is a seven, the largest amount possible, $1,000, is awarded to the team. The player then would choose whether to roll the dice again, or pass them on to the next player. The maximum number of allowed rolls for each player is three.

If the player chooses to pass, the next player would then make their first roll. Play continues until all five players have had a chance to roll the dice. At the end, the total amount of bonus money gained will be credited to ALL five Player’s Club accounts.

If a player rolls a two, three, or twelve, they lose the rest of their turn and all of the bonus money their team has accumulated to that point.

Flagler's Magic City Casino has just added 40 blackjack machines to their Vegas style gaming room.

In Florida, casinos cannot run live table games such as blackjack, roulette, and keno. They can, however, offer these games in the form of slot machines, and that is what Magic City has done.

“We are very excited to offer a new type of gaming to our guests,” said Barbara Havenick, President and CEO of Magic City Casino. “The new games are fun, and the room turned out beautifully.”

Back in October, Magic City opened the first phase of their facility, complete with 700 Las Vegas style slot machines. Since October the casino has added around 100 additional slot games, and now has added the blackjack, roulette, keno, and craps slots.

In the new Vegas-style room, Magic City boasts 40 blackjack machines. Thirty of the machines are $5 minimums, which is nice for players who have been stuck playing larger minimums at other casinos – and the large amount of machines means players will never have to wait for an open seat. For those wishing to wager more, ten $10 minimum tables are available.

The third player in less than six months hit a bigger than million dollar jackpot at Seminole Hard Rock Casino, Hollywood.

The latest winner came courtesy of the Millionaire Sevens game. The slot starts with a million dollar jackpot and then increases each time it is played. The jackpot that was won on March 6th was for $1,634,211.

“I was really excited,” said the winner, who wished to remain anonymous. “This changes everything for me. There are a lot of good things I can do now.”

Two other people have also had that life changing experience recently. On October 17th of last year, a $1,028,215 jackpot was hit on the Megabucks Video MegaJackpot game. Less than a month earlier, on September 29th of 2009, another player became the first player ever to win the Megabucks MegaJackpot progressive top prize. That player walked away with $1,110,779.

“I have noticed an increase in poker players since they (the Seminoles) linked the bad beat jackpots,” said Danny Jerry, a player at the Seminole Coconut Creek Casino. “It has made for a better playing experience, especially at times during the day when action at the poker room used to be a little slow.”

Mardi Gras Casino not only is dealing with the big party in New Orleans that bears its name this week, but it is also preparing for what could be a legendary fight, one that could alter the future of the heavyweight division in the sport.

The under-card may have some excitement, but it is Nogueira and Velasquez that will pull patrons of Mardi Gras away from the slot machines late Saturday night.

At 10PM, Mardi Gras will tune in on its 16′ HD screen. Available during the festivities will be a $10 UFC food buffet.

Seating is limited for this viewing, and will be given out on a first come, first serve basis. No cover will be charged, so anyone that is enjoying the slots and poker at the casino is welcome to watch the mixed martial arts fight.

UFC 110 was the second fastest sellout in UFC history and that could have a lot to do with the location of the event. While most of the UFC events are held in the US, this one is being held in Sydney, Australia. The country’s fans do not get to see many of these events live, and they might be doing some investigative work into the sport that has taken the US by storm.

The main event is a match between the Brazilian legend, Nogueira, and the undefeated Velasquez. As was the case years ago with boxing, this top match is too close to call. Nogueira has the reputation of being a warrior who can withstand an onslaught and still come out on top. He proved he is worthy of the heavyweight division when he beat Randy Couture at UFC 102.

Velasquez, on the other hand, must prove to his doubters that he can handle moving into the heavyweight division. Although he is undefeated, this is his first fight as a heavyweight, and all eyes will be on his every move. At his best, Velasquez can dominate a match.

The 1st Annual Chad Brown No Limit Texas Hold’em Championship starts on Friday, January 28th at the Orange Park Poker Room in North Florida.

Tournament organizers said they expect up to 120 players, two of whom will be Florida residents Chad Brown and his famous poker playing wife, Vanessa Russo.

Twenty-five percent of the field will be made up of the top poker players from around the country, the rest will be Florida residents who paid the $880 entrance fee, and other players who qualified in the satellite tournaments.

Day 1a of the tournament starts on Friday, January 29th at 1pm at Orange Park. Satellites to gain entrance will still be running on Friday at St. John’s for entrance to the Day 1b event, which will start on Saturday.

The tournament is set up to be a deep-stack event. Each player will begin with 20,000 in chips, and blinds will move up every hour. The buy-in is $880 for those who have not qualified through a satellite tournament, no re-buys will be available.

After the first four rounds of the tournament, players will have to ante for each hand. Players will color up after the eighth, fifteenth, and nineteenth rounds. Dinner breaks for players will be at around 5:15PM of each day’s events, and play on the first day will conclude at approximately 9:15PM.

Day Two will begin at 12PM on Sunday, and the final table will be played on Monday, February 1st. Although the guaranteed prize pool is $50,000, organizers are expecting that the final prize fund will grow much higher.

Ante Up Magazine has teamed up with Fallah Productions Inc. to provide television coverage of the event. Ante Up publishers, Scott Long, and Chris Cosenza, will serve as hosts and commentators for the TV coverage. The show will be appear on Bright House Sports Network in Florida and Cox Cable in Louisiana.
